Ward 6 Budget Town Hall – May 7th 6:30pm
Councilmember Charles Allen is hosting a Ward 6 Town Hall on the proposed DC Budget. The Town Hall is May 07, 6:30pm – 8:30pm at the DCRA Conference Room (Waterfront Metro), 1100 4th St SW Room E-200. The week after this meeting will be when the Council starts voting on possible changes to the Mayor’s proposed budget. Allen is also inviting all his At-Large colleagues to join as well.

Spotlight on Shaw this Wednesday Night – Shaw Mainstreets 2015 Gala
There are some great Shaw businesses and entrepreneurs at the Shaw Mainstreets 2015 Gala this Wednesday night at the Howard Theater. Details and ticket info are below.

This year’s theme is “Spotlight on Shaw,” and is a nod to the gala’s venue, the historic Howard Theatre, and to the audience our neighborhood has attracted as a destination for food, drink, and entertainment.
The host committee is comprised of star chefs and mixologists whose establishments are based in Shaw, and notably includes a handful of new-to-Shaw attention grabbers:
